december? yeah, i know it’s february. here’s the thing…this golden colorado lifestyle photographer spent the four months leading up to christmas busier than i’ve ever been. with work. with my boys. with life. and against my every impulse, i forced myself to step away for a moment, so i could attempt to be truly present. to shut down my computer, turn off my phone, and witness the joy that is a three and four year old counting down the days to christmas…

so it begins. yes it’s february now, but hopefully you can let go of that, (as i did), and for a few minutes enjoy being transported back to december, when my family had the pleasure of becoming the subjects of a golden colorado lifestyle photographer, for a month-long lifestyle session in full force!early in december we were delighted to receive an invitation to cut down our very own christmas tree at a friend’s property in the gorgeous, wintery mountains of colorado.there’s no place like snow!
after hours of fun, trekking through feet of snow, we headed home for some much needed rest…and the next morning, the boys wasted no time getting ready to decorate!
while the boys wrestled with untangling the christmas lights, my husband, (who is a saint for this), began what turned into a three-day mission to untangle my favorite decoration…
the boys got a lift from papa, to top our sweet little tree with our sweet little love birds.
and finally, sweet success! thanks to my husband, my favorite decoration made it’s debut…(and stayed up an extra month just for kicks).
my boys have the great fortune, (as did i growing up), to celebrate both christmas and hanukkah. every year they are able to recite more and more of the berakhah, and it warms my heart.
but of course when your three and four, it’s still about the presents!
(and the egg nog)…bottoms up!
next on the agenda…weekend mountain getaway with our buddies!
and perhaps my favorite part of the weekend…little elves making holiday cookies!
after a fun filled weekend, we returned home to more candy and frosting…
just in time for the big day!
this little one received some extra film for his polaroid camera…my little photographer in training 🙂
this guy has never been one to contain his excitement…
and this guy has never been one to get overly excited.
but they are still the BEST little bros in the world. which warms my heart more than anything.
and finally, on to new years! these guys wanted to be “fancy” for our little party…i think they nailed it.
happy new year!!!
and, just like that, december is out.
major thanks to each and every client who made 2015 my busiest year yet as a golden colorado lifestyle photographer, and also a huge shout out to everyone who encouraged (and helped) me to slow down, relax, and enjoy the holidays with my family to the fullest. here’s to more slowing down in 2016!!
